Such a BEAUTIFUL spot!

Keep in mind that the waterfall is RIGHT next to the camp grounds and car park, you don't have to park and hike, it's right thee next to the car park.

Excellent campground with surrounding trails and interesting creek beds. I'd certainly camp at this site again if I were returning to the Ozarks.

Horse fly warning at Haw Creek Falls! As far as pretty, it is. My wife and three kids and I went in the summer about three years ago. Water was low and flowing slowly but the kids and I got in. We didn't notice horse flies then. Once we got out, the horse flies attacked us relentlessly. Their bite is painful! They didn't bother my wife in the slightest since she didn't get in the water. We stayed for about five minutes thinking it would stop while moving out of the immediate water area. IT DID NOT! We ended up running to the car and getting in with wet clothes. We drove away about a mile to stop and change clothes. Horse flies were still swarming the car so we didn't get out. We drove ten miles. Guess what, still horse flies! Apparently they had latched onto the car somewhere that they wouldn't get blown off. I had to get out of the car and kill about 20 horse flies. My family was still so terrified they wouldn't get out of the car even after I said the coast was clear. Mind you, ten miles away. We all changed out of our wet clothes in the car. That was one weird experience. Really surreal experience. I highly doubt that's typical of the area since I've never heard any similar stories. But that was our experience.

I'd be walking along the waterfall edge and BANG it would assault my nose again :-(

Handy but also problematic. Hopefully we were just unlucky with the wind or something, but the honking stench of drop pits or toilet sewage was in the air. The place was pretty as a picture but bloody stunk.

Great spot for a dip though, I look forward to visiting it again

Beautiful falls after a heavy rain. Best time to go is spring/fall when there is more rainfall. Easy to get to although the little bridge/road in can get a little flooded.

Great campground with spots next to the waterfall.
